What shredding companies in Candler-McAfee do

Most requests are one of these. Pick the closest in the form and the quotes will match.

One-time purge

A truck or pickup for a backlog of boxes: old files, a closed office, an estate, last decade of tax paper.

Scheduled console service

Locked bins in your office, emptied weekly, biweekly, or monthly, with a certificate every visit.

Mobile on-site shredding

The truck shreds at your curb while you watch. The usual choice for medical, legal, and financial records.

Hard drive and media destruction

Drives, tapes, phones, and USB sticks crushed or shredded, with serial numbers on the certificate.

Drop-off and small jobs

A few boxes at a secure drop point or added to a route already in your area.

Product and uniform destruction

Recalled stock, counterfeit goods, badges, and uniforms destroyed so they cannot be reused.

Records storage, scanning, and medical waste pickup go through the same request. Say so in the comments.

On-site truck, off-site plant, or bins?

It comes down to how much paper, how often, and who needs to watch.

  • One-time purgeBest for a backlog. Priced per box with a truck minimum, so ten boxes and forty boxes can cost closer than you expect.
  • Scheduled binsLocked consoles in the office, emptied on a schedule. The cheapest per pound once you fill a bin a month, and it keeps paper out of the trash.
  • On-site shreddingThe truck shreds at your curb and you can watch. Costs more. Worth it for medical, legal, and financial files, or when a client requires it.
  • Hard drivesShredded or crushed, serial numbers logged on the certificate. Ask whether they do it on site or back at the plant.

Paper shredding in Candler-McAfee, GA

There are few large office buildings in Candler-McAfee, an unincorporated and mostly residential part of DeKalb County with small shopping strips along Candler Road and Flat Shoals. The paper comes from tax preparers, barber shops with old customer cards, churches, daycare centers and independent clinics.

Jobs run small, five to twenty boxes, and many companies will not roll a truck for that unless you reach their minimum. Two workarounds: pool boxes with a neighbor on the same visit, or carry them to a drop-off plant yourself. Drop-off often costs less for a small load, but you do the lifting and see less of the process. A daycare or clinic with enrollment or patient files should stay with on-site shredding and a certificate. DeKalb street names repeat in confusing ways, so cross streets help the dispatcher, and so does saying whether the boxes are on the ground floor.

Shredding FAQs

What people in Candler-McAfee usually ask before they send the form.

How much does paper shredding cost in Candler-McAfee?
It depends on how you buy it. One-time purges are usually priced per banker box or per bin, with a minimum charge for the truck to come out. Scheduled service is priced per console or bin per visit. On-site shredding, where the truck shreds at your curb while you watch, costs more than off-site, where the locked bins go back to the plant. Hard drives are priced per drive. Give companies the box count and how often you need them and they will quote your address.
What is the difference between on-site and off-site shredding?
On-site means a mobile shred truck comes to you and destroys the paper there, and you can watch it happen. Off-site means the driver swaps or empties locked bins and the paper is shredded at a secure facility later the same day or week. Both are common. Medical, legal, and financial offices often choose on-site for the witness factor. Either way, ask for a certificate of destruction.
Do I need to remove staples, paper clips, or folders?
No. Industrial shredders handle staples, clips, rubber bands, and manila folders. Three-ring binders and large metal clips are the usual exceptions, so ask. You do not need to sort or unfold anything.
How do scheduled shredding services work?
The company places locked consoles or bins in your office. Staff drop paper through the slot and never touch it again. On a set schedule, weekly, every other week, or monthly, a driver empties or swaps the containers and leaves a certificate. The price is per container per visit, and most companies will adjust the schedule once they see how fast you fill them.
Can they destroy hard drives and other media?
Yes. Most shredding companies destroy hard drives, USB drives, backup tapes, phones, and optical media, either by physical shredding or crushing, and give you a serialized certificate listing each drive. Some will wipe drives instead if you want to reuse them. Say how many drives you have and whether you need serial numbers recorded.
What should I do with a few boxes from a home cleanout?
For a small job, a drop-off or a shared community shred event is usually the cheapest route, and some companies will add a few boxes to a route already running in your neighborhood. If you have an estate's worth of paper, a truck visit makes more sense. Put the rough box count in the form so the quotes fit the job.
Will I get proof the documents were destroyed?
Ask for a certificate of destruction. It lists the date, what was destroyed, and the method, and it is what auditors and regulators expect to see. Companies that follow industry destruction standards issue one on every job.
How many companies will contact me?
A few that serve Candler-McAfee, not a flood. The request is free and you are not committing to anything.
